I'm completely fixed on starting an aids awareness program at my school,but the principle won't allow it he says it has nothing to do with academics. BUt there are atleast 50 out of 800 kids at my school that already has an std. what should i do should i go to someone higher in command are start on my own. Please comment needing advice from anyone willing to give or anyone who just wanna chat

Interesting. It has nothing to do with academics - in what way? What kind of awareness program were you having in mind?

Might the principal just be using the 'academic' argument (which is utterly weak) because the principal simply does not like your point of view, or the methods with which you are planning to do this awareness program?

I am really interested in this. I think the HIV/AIDS challenge is Absolutely an academic issue; why, there are tens of thousands of university educated people from around the world tackling with the highly complex questions of HIV/AIDS.

I think you should absolutely NOT give up this fight. Please tell us a bit more about the background for this, and be prepared that if you are willing to fight for this cause, you DO have supporters from around the world.
